Fun for young people
Across YORK!
This half term, over 25 local clubs, groups, and organisations are opening their doors for young people to try new sports, activities, and hobbies. From football to crafts, there’s something for everyone — come and give it a go!
What is Give It A Go Week?
Give It A Go Week is a celebration of fun, friendship, and trying something new! Across York, youth clubs, sports teams, church groups, and community organisations are putting on free and low-cost activities to keep young people active and inspired this half term.
It’s a chance to meet like-minded young people at local events, share in new experiences, and build lasting connections. From football matches and drama workshops to crafts, music, and outdoor adventures, every activity is designed to spark fun, friendship, and confidence.

CONNECT WITH PEOPLE LIKE YOU
More than just trying something new, Give It A Go Week offers a place to belong and feel welcomed — where every young person can explore, discover their strengths, and feel part of a supportive community. Whether it’s scoring your first rugby try, learning a new skill, or uncovering a hidden talent, this is your week to shine.
Why Give It A Go?
Young people gain confidence, make friends, and stay active when they try new things. Parents love seeing their children discover new passions. And our amazing local clubs get to welcome the next generation of members.
